  • Understanding Marketing Automation basics
  • What is Marketing Cloud and exploring Marketing Cloud products
  • Learning the various Marketing Cloud roles and responsibilities
  • Getting started with the Marketing Cloud demo org

Session 2 - Content Creation

  • Exploring content builder to manage assets
  • Learning to create an email template and an email
  • Understanding email personalization with dynamic content and AMPscript
  • Reviewing different send methods and testing emails
  • Managing Subscriber email preferences

Session 3 - Data Management

  • Understanding Marketing Cloud data models (will include Subscriber Lists, Data Extensions, Mobile Lists and Contact Model)
  • Learning the basics of data segmentation
  • Exploring built-in data filters or SQL to create mailable audiences
  • Learning about best practices to set up Marketing Cloud right from the beginning

Session 4 - Automation Studio

  • Exploring different activities in Automation Studio
  • Learning how to use Automation Studio to automate email sends, data segmentation and data exports

Session 5 - Journey Builder

  • Understanding the basics of Journey Builder
  • Explore different Journey Builder activities and flows
  • Learning to prepare and launch Journey Builder campaigns

Session 6 - Salesforce Integration, Reporting and Next Steps

  • Introduction to Marketing Cloud Connect and the integration with Salesforce
  • Understanding built-in reports to track email performance
  • Exploring Marketing Cloud Certifications
  • Recap and next steps


Throughout the program, students will get regular homework assignments involving additional learning modules, quizzes, and hands-on challenges through the Trailhead Platform.

It is compulsory to complete each assignment prior to the start of the next class.

All hands-on assignment scenarios will be based on a fictitious company, Next Telecom.

  • What is the cost of the program? If selected for the program, there is no cost to participate.
  • Can I access the recordings after the course completion? Yes, the recordings will be shared with all program participants.
  • Do I need any prior knowledge? No previous knowledge/skills are required. We will begin with the basics and build from that foundation. If you have previous Salesforce and/or marketing skills, that will help, but we'll point you towards resources to work on these skills if you need them.
  • What can students expect? This will be a fast-paced learning environment with successive sessions. We'll be covering everything from the basics to the more complex components of Marketing Cloud. The program includes regular homework assignments involving additional learning modules, quizzes, and hands-on challenges through the Trailhead Platform
  • What if I miss a training session? Team members are expected to review the recorded sessions and complete the assigned homework prior to the next session.
  • What is the outcome of this training? You will leave the cohort with a strong baseline understanding of Marketing Cloud, enabling you to explore and build your career in Marketing Automation.
  • Will I get a certificate at the end of the course? Upon successful completion of the program, you'll get an "Intro to Admin Certificate of Achievement". We don't provide Salesforce certifications. However, we will give you guidance on how to sign up for your exams via Webassessor.
